Revolution?

Revolution?
We are headed towards environmental collapse. We are coming very close to making keystone species extinct. Humans rely on certain “Keystone” species to survive....think honeybees. I see no governments or more importantly, corporations, taking any stock of this; they just go on their way using the legal precedents like shareholder primacy that their predecessors created to continue ravaging the planet. Revolution? Hah! People are so absorbed in their material lives and so comfortable in their commercialized identities that they dare not leave. More than that, they can't leave. They are addicted to these products that are pushed out in a manner decided by marketers with Ph.Ds. The corporation is their dealer, and people view the corporation as their friend...sometimes it's the only friend people have. When our very culture emphasizes hyper-individualism and presents success as consisting of money and power...instead of say collectivism, community, and viewing success as happiness. People are placed in a metaphorical, if not socially constructed box of sorts. We look to our dealer, the corporation, to throw some confetti inside of our culture granted boxes of isolation. I don't have to show you evidence...just look to the hundreds to the thousands waiting in line to buy the next iPhone...hoping to receive some sort of emotional gratification that this culture has robbed them of. People have nowhere else to turn..why?...because they were not given the tools to learn how to build community...or how to eat healthily...or in some cases..even how to love. They have been taught how to work for a place to make them money...and how to get along with others...and mainly how to stay completely complicit in the usurpation of resources from foreign lands, countless human rights violations, and environmental destruction.  I have a very good idea of why the United States is such a hotspot for malevolent business...and that is because the people are bred to trust and accept this type of behavior. From a very early age we are hit with predatory advertising..just think of how Mcdonalds or Tony the Tiger are modeled...if you notice, they are strictly meant to target children. This ad targeting, of course, continues as we grow older..just think of beer commercials you see online. We are targeted by an array of elaborate schemes starting from an early age and continue until the day we die....that's right..there are products aimed at the elderly....think pharmaceuticals. Revolution? Yeah, I don’t see it happening.

Politics in the U.S.

Politics in the U.S.

Politics in the U.S. is and has always been, nothing but sharks in suits pandering to the ignorant. They pander to the ignorant to gain approval as their "Leader" and to set themselves up as part of the ruling class, bestowing upon them many perks and benefits. The masses are ignorant, and so they pander to them. If the masses were well informed and intelligent, candidates would be taking a very different approach. We have only ourselves to blame for the stupidity of the wide selection of candidates that are either ignorant or already connected to the upper class..many times both. If we want real change, we must demand it. The majority need to be educated beyond their own racist, xenophobic, reality tv watching consciousness. Schools cannot do this, as they rely on funding from the very same government that panders to our ignorance. We must all self-educate before any real progress is to be made. It's easy to pander to mass ignorance....which is why the corporate state uses media to keep us ignorant...we must fight this establishment to make our way to a better future. If we want state sanctioned democracy, we must fulfill our end of the bargain. It takes thinking people making active moves every day, not just turning up to the polls every 2-4 years and voting, expecting one person or administration to take care of everything. That is not what democracy is. That is the definition of an approved dictatorship. Democracy is all about active participation in politics. We must remember that there are no one pill cures and there are certainly no political saviors or one election results. If things got done on their own, corporations wouldn't have twice as many lobbyists than there are members of Congress. It takes people lobbying, protesting, demonstrating, and taking direct action for a democracy to function. You wouldn't expect capitalism to work if everyone bought something, and no one was making that something. It's a union between politicians and people...just like the union between worker and consumer. We must educate ourselves on things that are important. We must then make them work for our support, or they're doing nothing but acting and making laws in the corporate interest or their own.
